Use OpenCode with Github Copilot and access models like Claude Opus and GPT 5.3 Codex
Use OpenCode with GitHub Copilot
OpenCode supports Sign in with GitHub Copilot, allowing Copilot subscribers to use OpenCode with their existing subscription.
With OpenCode + Copilot, you can:
- Authenticate using your GitHub Copilot subscription
- Access supported AI coding models available through Copilot
- Use OpenCode’s workflow for chat, edits, and code generation
How it works
- Install this integration.
- In OpenCode, choose Sign in with GitHub Copilot.
- Complete the GitHub authorization flow.
- OpenCode detects your Copilot entitlement and enables supported model access.
Model availability
OpenCode surfaces models available through your Copilot plan. Availability depends on your subscription, region, and GitHub’s current offerings.
Examples may include:
- Claude (e.g., Opus-class models)
- GPT Codex-class models
Model availability and naming may change over time. OpenCode displays the models your account has access to after sign-in.
Privacy and permissions
- OpenCode only requests permissions required to authenticate and verify Copilot entitlement.
- Authentication is handled through GitHub’s official login flow.
- Code and prompts are processed according to your Copilot plan and GitHub’s terms.
Requirements
- An active GitHub Copilot subscription
- A GitHub account with Copilot enabled
- OpenCode installed and up to date
Troubleshooting
If sign-in succeeds but models do not appear:
- Confirm Copilot is active on your GitHub account.
- Re-authenticate in OpenCode.
- Verify that your Copilot plan includes access to the expected models.
